Bacardi has raided Campari to find the new regional president for its Latin American business.
Paolo Perego, Campari's North American chief operating officer, will start his new role on Monday (9July).
Perego, a Campari veteran, with 22 years at the drinks company under his belt, replaces Rich Andrews who was last month named as Bacardi's managing director for the UK and Ireland.
During his time at Campari, Perego held various executive positions including managing director of its South American business.
At Bacardi, the world’s largest privately owned spirits company, he will manage its overall strategy in Latin America and will also sit on the Bacardi Leadership Team.
Ed Shirley, Bacardi’s president and chief executive said: “Paolo brings deep industry knowledge in the commercial and brand marketing sides of the business. His expertise in global and regional marketplaces will have a tremendous impact in the growing and dynamic Latin American region.”
