Indian bakery and dairy firm Britannia Industries has reported a 3.95% increase in net profit to Rs 434.5 million (£5.05 million) in the quarter ending 30 June.
Britannia, which makes Good Day, Tiger and Bourbon biscuits and fresh bakery products under the Daily Bread brand, said that revenue was up 10.95% to Rs 12.29 billion (£14.27 million) during the period.
The firm posted a 17.91% increase in net sales to Rs 12.22 billion (£14.19 million) and improved its operating margin by 98 bps to 4.26%.
“We continue to work on the three priority areas of revenue management, cost management and innovation to improve the operational performance of all our categories - biscuits, bread, cake, rusk and dairy, both in India and overseas," said Vinita Bali, Britannia Industries’ managing director.
Shares in the company were down 0.68% to Rs 470.45 (£5.47)
