Campbell eyes bakery acquisitions17 September 2012Campbell Soup Co is targeting acquisitions and joint ventures in a bid to expand its international presence. Denise Morrison, Campbell’s chief executive told The Wall Street Journal that the firm will pursue international mergers and acquisitions to boost its bakery and snacks portfolio. Latin America and Asia markets are believed to be on Campbell’s radar and the firm said that it would be targeting additions to its baked snacks, healthy beverages and simple meals portfolio. Campbell already owns a range of fresh bakery, frozen bread, crackers, biscuit and cake products under its Pepperidge Farm brand. Last week, Campbell opened a new $30 million Pepperidge Farm innovation centre in Connecticut, USA. | |
