Philippe Huet has been appointed as the new managing director cocoa for Cargill’s cocoa and chocolate business.
Huet takes over from Harold Poelma, who has now taken up a new challenge – as managing director of Cargill Refined Oils Europe.
“I am very much looking forward to my new role,” said Huet. “Focusing on our customers will be a particular priority for me, ensuring that we provide them with the best possible service, and with the support necessary for them to develop innovative solutions for their businesses.”
Since joining Cargill in 1995, Huet has held various managerial positions across the company. In 2005 he joined the management team of Cargill’s cocoa and chocolate business as commercial director for the cocoa division, leading the product sales, cocoa bean origination, and risk management activities.
Most recently Huet has overseen the integration of German chocolate manufacture Kakao Verarbeitung Berlin (KVB) into Cargill’s cocoa and chocolate business, which Cargill says makes it the largest chocolate producer in Germany and the second largest in Europe.
