MB Solutions launches 'decocainised' weight management solution16 July 2012Florida-based firm MB Innovations has launched a new 'decocainised' coca leaf weight management ingredient in the US. Slimple contains MaCoca - a proprietary blend that is derived from decocainised coca leaf. Maca Root, citrus bioflavonoids, glycomacropeptide (GMP), guggul (gum extract), green tea, Lotus Leaf extract and annatto leaf powder are the other listed ingredients. The firm said that it had launched the product in response to the fact that 63.1% of adult Americans are overweight or obese. While coca leaf is illegal in the US and many other countries, decocainised leaf is not subject to the same prohibition. It does not require regulatory approval, there are no special restrictions on claims (other than around association as a recreational drug) and no additional labelling is required. | |
