NBTY opens New York plant25 October 2012Nutritional supplement firm NBTY has opened a new $20 million nutritional bar manufacturing plant in Amityville, New York. The 66,000 square foot facility will produce nutritional bars like MET-Rx, Pure Protein and Good 'n Natural. Once the plant is fully operational it will generate one million bars a day and create over 150 jobs. NBTY said that the plant will meet increased demand for its nutritional products by doubling the company’s capacity. NBTY began construction on the facility in 2011 to expand upon an existing smaller facility located nearby. “We are proud of our Long Island heritage and are committed to growing our local economy by providing more jobs in our own backyard,” said Jeff Nagel, NBTY’s chief executive. | |
