OncoNatural secures US patent for prostate supplement23 August 2012Los Angeles-based firm OncoNatural has won a US patent for its Prostate Health Cocktail (PHC) supplement. The supplement, which contains palmetto, selenium, lycopene and other vitamin, mineral and specialty ingredients, was awarded the patent based on the results of a Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved study which showed the compound to stabilise prostate specific antigen (PSA) in 83% of patients with recurring prostate cancer. 30% of the sample had a reduction in PSA after taking the product. "PHC is designed for use as a complement to existing prostate cancer treatments," said Dr Jacek Pinski, PHC's developer.
