Reliv adds soy powder to newly patented sports supplement13 August 2012US firm Reliv International has added LunaRich soy powder to its ProVantage and confirmed a patent for the athletic performance supplement. Lunarich is an exclusive whole soy powder which Reliv says contains five to ten times more lunasin - a peptide found naturally in soy offering health benefits - than the industry standard. Lunasin protects against oxidative stress and inflammation caused by high-impact exercise, which can in turn cause cell damage throughout the body. According to Reliv, Lunasin protects cells by reducing the negative effects of oxidative stress and by regulating the body's inflammatory response. "Studies show the effectiveness of soy in promoting optimal fitness," said Dr. Carl Hastings, Reliv's chief scientific officer.
