It generates some $5.2 billion (£3.17 billion) in sales in North America and about $1.5 billion internationally.

In addition to these main food products, Campbell has a foodservice unit in North America that distributes soup, speciality entrees, beverages, other prepared foods and Pepperidge Farm items through US and Canadian channels under the Away From Home brand.

Company information

Campbell was founded in 1869 and is based in Camden, New Jersey. It is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CPB.

The distinctive seal used on all of its products is an image of the gold medal of excellence the company won at the Paris Exposition in 1900.

Campbell's tinned soups are known for their eye-catching red and white packaging - a look that became familiar to many after Andy Warhol produced a series of art pieces featuring the cans during the 1960s.
