Atchison Topeka signs ingredient handling contract with CadburyAtchison Topeka has announced it has signed a three-year contract to manage food ingredients handling for Cadbury. The third-party food logistics provider is to set up a dedicated nut handling facility to further improve food safety at the confectionary giant. Atchison will decant nuts into bespoke containers which will feed directly on to the Cadbury production lines seven days a week. The Droitwich-based firm, which recently obtained BRC accreditation, will also control waste management, including the bailing and recycling of packaging. Managing director Mike Phillips said: "I am delighted to further our existing relationship with one of the country's leading chocolate manufacturers." Atchison Topeka focus solely on the storage and distribution of food ingredients into the manufacturing and food services centres of the UK. Earlier this year the firm secured a contract with biscuit manufacturer McVities involving the storage and distribution of a key ingredient - egg powder.
