Beverage innovation hub from NestleSwiss beverage and food manufacturer Nestle will be setting up a beverage innovation hub in Singapore. At the centre on the south-east Asian island Nestle will be conducting research and development (R&D) into beverages, focusing particularly on different mixes of its coffees. It also plans to create more affordable and accessible versions of its products for the Asia-Pacific market. From the beginning of next year the hub will be fully operational. Klaus Zimmermann, global head of Nestle's product technology and R&D centres, said: "Coffee mixes have been a very strong growing segment in our beverage product category in the last year, and also fulfil the needs of growing consumption. We think it is a good idea to bring the research into the region." In Singapore alone, around 350 million cups of coffee mixes are consumed every year. Nestle owns a range of different coffees, including Nescafe Decaff, Nescafe Classic, Nescafe Gold and a Cappuccino brand. Posted by Phillipa Atkins ![]() | | ||||||||||||||||||||
