Cadbury joins responsible marketing campaignConfectionery giant Cadbury has joined a whole host of other food and beverage companies committed to responsible marketing in India. Cadbury has joined seven other big brands, Nestle, Kellogg, PepsiCo, Mars, Coca Cola, General Mills and Unilever, taking part in the advertising pledge not to promote products to children under 12. This pledge is a voluntary self-regulation by members of the Indian Food and Beverage Industry showing their commitment to conducting responsible marketing campaigns. It will follow similar lines to responsible advertising pledges that already exist within the European Union (EU). Coca Cola Great Britain signed up the EU initiative, which governs the non-alcoholic beverages sector on the continent, in January 2006. The commitments it signed up to bind the company to act responsibly in the marketplace and provide consumers with variety and choice, through offering a range of pack sizes and a selection of beverages, including low and no-calorie options.
