Danone launches flavoured milk in IndiaDanone has started market testing flavoured milk in the Indian market, reports the Economic Times. The newspaper reports that the move marks the health food company's entry into the country's market. Within the region Danone has a presence in India, Thailand, Bangladesh and Vietnam. Danone Choco Plus milk is currently being tested in the Hyderabad region and once it is on the shelves will compete with Nestle's Milkmaid Funshake and Britannia's Actimind. According to the economic times a source said: "Danone intends to undertake a national rollout and launches in other categories in phases. It is not in a hurry." India is being seen as a growing market for many brands. It was reported by LiveMint recently that Nestle, the world's largest food manufacturer, is well placed to benefit from the ten to 12 per cent growth in the coming years. It is thought that as more brands enter the country's market the currently small milk market will grow. Posted by Lauren Cook. ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||
