General Mills named in Fortune's 50 Most Admired CompaniesFood giant General Mills has been named one of Fortune Magazine's 50 Most Admired Companies 2010. The firm, which makes Cheerios, Haagen-Dazs, Nature Valley, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Green Giant and Old El Paso, was ranked 47th overall and third in the consumer food products industry. "We are tremendously pleased with this strong endorsement of our company," said Ken Powell, chairman and chief executive officer of General Mills. "Few things are more important than a company's reputation with stakeholders. It represents the sum of all that we do and reflects the value and trust that consumers, customers, employees, investors and communities place in our company, our brands and our people." It is the second consecutive year that General Mill has appeared on the list. Last month, Hershey's Chocolate Kisses topped the Harris Interactive EquiTrend report for 2010, highlighting their popularity among consumers. M&Ms, Hershey's milk chocolate bars, Google.com, Duracell batteries, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Heinz Ketchup, Kleenex Facial Tissues, Oreo Cookies and Neosporin Ointment also made the top ten.
