Kit Kat given Japanese makeoverNestle's Kit Kat has been given a makeover to help it appeal to Japanese consumers. The well-known chocolate bar is now available in 19 new flavours that reflect specialties from across Japan including sweet potatoes, melon, miso and green tea, reports the Independent. It is hoped that the bars will be bought as souvenirs or gifts and as such Nestle has teamed up with Japan Post to produce boxes that can be sent through the mail. "Giving gifts is an important part of Japanese culture and we like to travel, so we wanted to combine these two things together," Miki Kanoh, a spokeswoman for the Kobe-based company, told Relaxnews. Earlier this month, UK prime minister Gordon Brown revealed to the Daily Mail that he has a weakness for Kit Kats which he suggested shows his "more human side". He added that he sometimes tries to swap his chocolate treat for a healthier banana. ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||
