Nestle 'suing Sara Lee' in coffee battleFood and beverage giant Nestle is suing Sara Lee over an alleged infringement of its patent for its premium beverage Nespresso. Ongoing legal proceedings mean Nestle cannot comment on the case but it relates to Sara Lee launching the beverage brand L'Or Espresso this April in France. Sara Lee denies it infringed any patents. It said: "We are confident that our product complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, and are confident about the outcome of this case." The company's L'Or coffee capsules have been developed to work in Nespresso machines and Sara Lee has been selling them at a cost ten per cent less than Nestle's capsules. Sara Lee is not the only food manufacturer facing legal action at the moment. Earlier this week, it was announced that the McQueen fashion house may sue confectionery giant Cadbury over its new Flake advert, which features a floating female figure and bears a resemblance to the Kate Moss hologram used at the end of McQueen's 2006 autumn/winter catwalk collection.
