NZ farmer at war with Coca Cola over soft beverageA dairy farmer from New Zealand is embroiled in a battle with Coca Cola over the fizzy cola-milk soft beverage he created. Richard Revell, who farms on North Island, has been banned by the soft beverage giant from selling his cola and lemonade-milk drink at the largest farm expo in the southern hemisphere. Reportedly, his soft beverage constitutes competition for Coca Cola and was therefore prohibited from sale at the National Fieldays event in New Zealand. "Consumption of milk has dropped; other products like carbonated soft drinks high in sugar had increased," ABC Online reported Mr Revell as saying. "You started thinking, well, how do we make milk fun?" He added: "We are not going head to head with Coca Cola, or any other brand," he said. "We are trying to give people the option of a healthy soft drink." Coca Cola is the global leader in the soft beverage market. Globally, 1.6 billion servings of its products are consumed every single day. Posted by Lauren Cook ![]() | | ||||||||||||||||||||
