Sara Lee sources Utz Certified teaSara Lee has announced it has sourced the first Utz Certified tea which it will reportedly purchase 2,000 tonnes of to sell throughout 2010. Utz Certified is a coffee certification programme and its tea certification arm was established in 2008. Frank van Oers, chief executive officer of international beverage and bakery at Sara Lee, said: "At Sara Lee we are very happy to be able to bring sustainable tea to our leading Pickwick and Hornimans brands in the European market. "Our long-term vision is to source all of our tea from sustainable sources, and we plan to steadily increase the proportion that we buy." Earlier this year, Sara Lee announced plans to source 40,000 tons of sustainable coffee in 2010, building on its commitment of 30,000 tonnes in 2009.
