DSM Vitamin C plant to close for four months

DSM says it is continuing to invest in improving the performance of its Vitamin C plant in Jiangshan, China, as part of its ongoing commitment to quality, safety, sustainability and production efficiencies. To implement an extensive series of upgrades in these areas throughout the site, the facility will have a prolonged shutdown in the second half of 2018.

This shutdown will start in July and is expected to take four months.

The upgrades are said to not only contribute to DSM's sustainability strategy, but also proactively address the Chinese Government’s “Green China, Beautify Country” policy (also known as “Blue Skies” policy) and will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support sustainable development in Jiangsu province.

DSM said that it assures security of supply of Vitamin C to its contracted customers during the shutdown.
