The heliotropine sold by HELM AG is a fragrance and flavour carrier substance. Heliotropine is a white, crystalline powder with a pleasant scent. Heliotropine is also known under the name piperonal. With its scent of vanilla and almonds, the product is reminiscent of the solstice flower, also known as vanilla flower or heliotrope – and was therefore given the name Heliotropine, in addition to the chemical designations piperonyl aldehyde, 3,4-(methylenedioxy)-benzaldehyde and methylene protocatechualdehyde. The heliotropine marketed by HELM is made by the biggest piperonal producer in China. It is supplied as a synthetic commodity, thus guaranteeing constancy in quality. In contrast with naturally occurring heliotropine, which is made from the distilled oil extracted from the roots of the sassafras tree, the production of synthetic heliotropine ensures a continuous supply. Packaging: 25 kg net drums with inner PE bag. Applications: Heliotropine serves as a carrier substance for fragrances and flavours and is used in the tobacco, food, cosmetics and perfume industry as well as in laundry detergents and soaps.
