HI-SMOOTH is an innovative vegetable fibre obtained from flaxseeds. It acts like a light hydrocolloid showing:
  • strong water binding capacity in cold and hot conditions
  • stabilizing and thickening effects
  • slight emulsifying properties
  • foaming properties
  • suspending properties.
HI-SMOOTH can be applied in all the main applications where conventional hydrocolloids are used as stabilizers and thickening agents:

Although it is a new natural ingredient, important approvals have already been obtained in various applications. In particular we can highlight the following applications:
  • ice creams and artisanal gelato: as natural thickener and improver of volume, especially for clean label recipes
  • sauces and dressings: for clean label recipes, replacing classic additives like guar gum, xanthan gum and chemically modified starch
  • beverages: plant drinks, smoothies and fruit juices
  • egg white stabilizer: it is possible to stabilize whipped egg white both in final applications and during manufacturing process of egg white proteins
