Company description

Kräuter Mix, the German family business run by a third and fourth generation of owners, supplies the food and pet food industries, the pharmaceutical industry and trade with high-quality raw-materials. We offer our customers an extensive product portfolio ranging from dried vegetables and mushrooms, culinary herbs and spices through to plant-based raw materials, phytopharmaceutical substances and medicinal, fruit and herbal teas, as mixtures or as individual ingredients. We supply you with our products in almost all forms of processing and refining, both conventional and organic.

Many of our products are found in well-known pharmaceuticals and foodstuffs around the globe. To this end, we procure our raw materials from the best cultivation and collection areas around the globe. Our integrated quality management system with numerous certifications creates safety for customers and also attaches particular importance to the ecological and social aspects of sustainability. We also offer a variety of options in the field of contract processing.

Our corporate philosophy "Passion for Plants" serves as a basis for our acting and is our secret of success when it comes to efficiency. Our customers around the globe choose us for our experience since 1919, our technical capacities, the expertise of our qualified employees and for the provision of individual solutions. The world’s largest food group Nestlé has more than 11,600 suppliers around the globe. Kräuter Mix from Abtswind ranks among the best in Germany. This was confirmed to Managing Partner Bernhard Mix and Head of Sales Dorell Laudenbach at the Nestlé headquarters in Frankfurt am Main.

For the eighth time, “Die Familienunternehmer”, a German trade association for owner-managed companies, has awarded its Bavarian Family Business Award. First place in the sustainability category went to Kräuter Mix, based in the Franconian town of Abtswind, a producer of plant-based raw materials for the food, pet food and pharmaceutical industries.

Coronavirus information: Food transmission unlikely – Comprehensive safety precautions at Kräuter Mix

Since the first reports of the outbreak of a respiratory disease caused by an infection with a new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) in Wuhan City in China’s Hubei province, Kräuter Mix has been following the assessments and recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute and the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment. Furthermore, Kräuter Mix is closely monitoring any current information about the Covid-19 situation.

The trade fairs taking place – and those that aren’t: Covid-19 outbreak leads to cancellations and postponements

As a producer and distributor of plant-based raw materials, Kräuter Mix regularly has its own stand at trade fairs across Germany and Europe. In 2020 too, the company had hoped to present its dried natural products – herbs, vegetables and spices both as individual ingredients as well as in mixes – to a broad audience from trade and industry. Four events had been on the schedule before the Covid-19 outbreak stalled these plans.
