Product description

Liquorice is the concentrated decoction of the liquorice root. The root is coarsely cut up, crushed or pounded using rollers and boiled. The decoction is pressed out, filtered and con-centrated. The evaporation process is continued with constant stirring until the substance is so thick that it hardens on cooling. The extract is then further processed by being pressed into blocks, pulverised (crushed) and spraydried. Liquorice is also available as organic quality. Components: Approx. 5 - 33 % glycyrrhicine, water, saccharine, gum, starch and ash. Packaging: Licorice blocks: cartons of 25 kgs net; Licorice powder: bags of 20 or 25 kgs net; Licorice paste: cans of 25 kgs net. Application: In the confectionery industry for manufacturing licorice products; in the tobacco and chewing-tobacco industry; as a foaming agent in lemonade; expectorants; galenic preparations.
