Company description

The California Walnut Commission (CWC) represents over 4,800 walnut growers and close to 100 handlers in California. The Commission was established in 1987 as an agency of the State of California with the aim to develop and promote international sales markets for California walnuts. Besides focusing on export market development, the CWC is also involved in health-related research.

Apart from comprehensive market analysis, the Commission conducts generic marketing programs, cooperates closely with business representatives and supports scientific research projects examining health aspects of walnut consumption.

The CWC consists of 13 permanent members including representatives of eight to ten walnut producers, two to four walnut traders and one public member.
