Eurosweet, part of the Galam Group, is to further expand the company’s blending abilities, with a focus on premium liquid sugars.
Remarkably easy to handle, according to Galam, liquid sugars streamline the production process, eliminating the need for dissolving, filtering or pasteurisation stages. This not only reduces sugar losses during processing and storage, the company says, but liquid sugars also ensure consistency in every batch thanks to constant specification and uniform quality. Tim Cranko, Galam's Food and Beverage Division Manager, explained how Eurosweet hopes to further harness the benefits of liquid sugars for an even wider selection of food and beverage customers. “Considered a one-stop-shop solution, liquid sugars facilitate a more efficient production process,” said Cranko. “We want to offer manufacturers convenience, cost and QA advantages -starting from raw material handling and continuing throughout the production process. However, we recognise that certain ingredients, like polydextrose, while carrying significant manufacturing and nutritional advantages, are complicated to dissolve into liquid sugars and require our expert dissolving methods and equipment.” “Polydextrose is just one example of a highly valuable ingredient that needs a solution. Clearly there is a need for convenient and robust liquid sweeteners that can handle the challenges of dust, smell, shelf life and costly granulation grades of granulated sugars. As a liquid sugars blending specialist, Eurosweet resolves this and other challenges with new dedicated production lines for optimizing liquid sugar blends, including the flash pasteurization line and the specialty powder dissolving units.”Galam says that Eurosweet’s flash pasteurisation unit can significantly extend the shelf life of liquid sugars; the system ensures maximum microbiological safety and the highest product quality. The powder dissolving unit is said to enable the rapid and clean induction, wetting and dispersing of the most challenging powders, such as polydextrose, even accommodating high concentrations.
