Gnosis announces EU Mythocondro novel food status

Mythocondro has reached the Union List of Novel Foods in accordance with the Novel Food Regulation after having obtained Novel Food Authorization by the Minister for Medical Care (The Netherlands).

Mythocondro has reached the Union List of Novel Foods in accordance with the Novel Food Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 and the subsequent Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2470 issued on December 20th, 2017, after having obtained Novel Food Authorization by the Minister for Medical Care (The Netherlands).

This is just the first success achieved in the new year by Gnosis, which is now authorised to sell Mythocondro to European companies, thus contributing to the diffusion of an innovative non-animal and high quality Chondroitin Sulfate (CS), the company said.

Mythocondro, Gnosis notes, unlike common CS sold in the market, is not made from extracts of animal tissues and is therefore suitable for vegetarians, vegans and people with dietary restrictions related to their religion. The company claims that it also solves any concerns related to production origin, the possible presence of transmissible infective agents, contaminations and adulterations, typical of animal-derived raw materials.

Mythocondro, exclusively produced by Gnosis, is said to be the first biofermented Chondroitin Sulfate with a cruelty-free production process.
