PureCircle has announced that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has issued their draft approval of steviol glycosides (stevia) as a sweetener for use in eleven food and beverage categories for the Indian market. The draft regulation proposal is now in a public comment period ending 23 April, after which the company said it expects that a final approval will be issued.
