- Lipoic acid is an organic compound (a vitamin like substance) that can act as a coenzyme to participate in acyl transfer in the metabolism of substances in the body. It has both lipid solubility and water solubility. Alpha lipoic acid (1077-28-7) is a type of lipoic acid. Lipoic acid is divided into L-lipoic acid, D-lipoic acid, and mixed rotational lipoic acid. The common types of lipoic acid we see include rotational lipoic acid and right lipoic acid.
- Alpha lipoic acid is currently known as the most efficient and safe antioxidant, known as the "universal antioxidant". Its antioxidant capacity is 400 times that of vitamins C and E, and far superior to popular ingredients such as grape seeds and green tea.
