Barrel dryers are another option for drying small production quantities.
They may be designed for manual
operation. Additional conveyance provisions are used for semi or fully automatic
solutions. This is recommendable for higher or continuous processing quantities.
In-barrel drying takes place sometimes in fully static mode, most often in
minimal intermittent movement mode. The exact movement parameters are critical
and are determined in drying tests. Owing to its intermittent movement the
barrel is suited for less sensitive products, e. g. products subjected to
subsequent grounding.
Airgenex®food barrel dryers are built
in conformance with hygienic design requirements. High temperature zones for sterilization or
other purposes may easily be integrated in the system. Airgenex®food
condensation drying may also be slightly modified to provide cooling if desired
or required for the specific process.
