Divaks Registers with Singapore Food Agency as Approved Source of Insect Food Products

5 Sep 2024

Vilnius, August 19, 2024 – Divaks, a pioneer in developing and producing insect-based ingredients for the food industry, is proud to announce its official registration with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) as an approved source of insect food products. This milestone coincides with the SFA’s recent approval of 16 insect species for human consumption, marking a significant step forward for food innovation in Singapore.

As the world moves towards sustainable food solutions, Divaks is at the forefront with its range of high-quality insect-based ingredients. Our flagship product, Textured Insect Protein (TIP), is a versatile, nutrient-dense ingredient derived from Tenebrio molitor (mealworms) and complemented with pea protein. With a protein content exceeding 61% and a complete amino acid profile, TIP stands out as a superior alternative to traditional animal proteins. It is ideal for use in meat substitutes, ready-to-eat meals, and other food applications where a meat-like texture is desired.

In addition to TIP, Divaks offers Textured Insect Protein Powder (TIPP), a finely milled ingredient perfect for enhancing the nutritional value of products like protein bars, baked goods, smoothies, and sauces. TIPP delivers the same complete protein profile as TIP, with the added benefit of easy incorporation into various food formulations.

Both TIP and TIPP are produced with a minimal environmental footprint, requiring significantly less water, land, and feed compared to traditional livestock farming. This aligns with Divaks’ commitment to sustainability, offering industry players in Singapore and beyond a reliable source of eco-friendly, high-protein ingredients.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by the SFA and to contribute to Singapore’s growing insect-based food industry,” said Kęstutis Lipnickas, CEO of Divaks. “Our products not only provide exceptional nutrition but also help address the global demand for sustainable protein sources.”

With this registration, Divaks is well-positioned to support the development of innovative, sustainable food products in Singapore, paving the way for a new era in food innovation.
