A proprietary, JECFA compliant Non-GMO blend of active steviol glycosides (stevia compounds), Intesse is claimed to offer customers an upfront sweetness profile extremely close to sugar with added health benefits, and a significantly reduced bitterness and lingering profile compared with other stevia sweeteners.

As the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee continues to recommend less sugar consumption, and the Food and Drug administration proposes food nutrition labels to caution on added sugars, stevia continues to be a preferred sugar-free sweetener, the company says. Responding to consumer demand, Intesse is said to offer a new, improved taste. In trained sensory studies conducted by SGF, panellists acknowledged Intesse offered no aftertaste or bitter flavour note, and rather a pure sugar-like taste.

“Intesse significantly increases the utility of high purity stevia for liquid concentrates,” said Dr. Mel Jackson, VP of science, Sweet Green Fields. “The sugar-like taste and peak solubility make Intesse an ideal stevia extract for formulating a flavorful no-sugar-added product without any lingering aftertaste.”
