AIFPA was established in the year 1943 by visionary pioneers to put the Agro-food sector on a scientific platform. It is the oldest Association in the country, dedicated solely to the development of Food Processing Industry in India, which has been recognised as the backbone of our economy ushered through rural prosperity.

AIFPA closely interacts with industry, Government, research institutions, regulatory bodies and financial organizations to resolve industry concerns and confers Awards for contribution to food processing technology & innovation. It imparts training on Food Safety & Standards Modules and conducts Seminars, Webinars, Conferences on scientific, technical, quality enhancement, environmental and regulatory issues, besides taxation, exports and rapidly emerging global challenges.

The Platinum Jubilee Conference of the Association held in December, 2018 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Ram Nath Kovind, the Former President of India and was also graced by the Union Minister of MoFPI, senior officials of Govenment and research institutions.
