Founded in
1982, in the city of Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo, Apis Flora
is a national market leader in the propolis segment (IQVIA/26). The company is
acknowledged for consistently allocating funds to research to advance the
Brazilian sector and, to this end, has partnerships with research institutions,
universities, and development agencies - such as USP, UNICAMP, UNESP, FAEPA,
CNPq, FAPESP, and FINEP. Due to these partnerships, it adds up to more than 35
years of research, with over 400 researchers involved, more than 300 published
studies, and six patents, among them EPP-AF®, a standardized and exclusive
propolis extract that makes up several products in the brand’s portfolio,
including PROPOMAX®, used in a world-first study demonstrating the benefits of
propolis extract for treating COVID-19. Apis Flora, through EPP-AF®, has
created another distinctive and innovative solution: iCaps, a
microencapsulation technology that encapsulates propolis particles, resulting
in the propolis extract EPP-AF® iCaps. Currently, its products are available in
more than forty thousand points of sale, and the brand is present throughout
Brazil. It has over one hundred products in its catalog and is a supplier of
industrial ingredients for the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetics industries.
In recent years, it has gained relevance among other companies in the sector of
appetizers and functional foods worldwide. Today, it exports to more than
thirty countries, including China, the United States, Japan, and France.
