Artichoke is an herbaceous perennial plant cultivated in European temperate climate areas since ancient times.

In Greek mythology, legend has it that the artichoke was born of a punishment inflicted by Zeus on a young woman named Cynara who rejected his advances. To take revenge, he transformed her into a thorny plant.

Nowadays, the leaves of the plant are traditionally consumed for their detox properties and liver protection.

Nexira Artichoke Extract is gently processed in our French factory (water extraction & spray-drying).
