The start-up Adey Meselesh was founded in December 2020 by Daniel Feseha Melesse in Ethiopia and exports environmentally friendly spices. From the beginning, the start-up focussed not only on spices but also on IT solutions supporting the production processes and traceability of the products.The spices business unit focuses on developing great products: training local farmers on market requirements and customer demands, developing cost-effective and environmentally friendly packaging materials to maintain product quality, and developing energy-saving machines such as solar dryers and solar grinders.The IT business unit offers blockchain solutions for traceability and regulatory compliance in the supply chain. The solution includes an ERP system to manage and transmit product information or digital transactions via smart contracts in the blockchain (Hyperledger Fabric).
