Chitosan Powder

Product description

Chitosan powder is extracted from treating the chitin shells of snow crab(Chionoecetes) or other crustaceans. Chitosan is greyish white to off-white odorless powder, soluble in formic acid, acetic acid, benzoic acid, naphthenic acid and so on, hardly soluble in water.

Production Process of Chitin: In order to get flake chitin, the raw materials will be added acid and alkali to remove calcium, protein, pigment, acetyl so on. Usually, the chitin in different quality and application which are from different raw materials. Chitin is one of ingredients for industrial production, and can not be used directly.

Production Process of Chitosan Powder: Chitin to produce chitosan is usually achieved by hydrolysis of the acetamide groups with concentrated NaOH or KOH, Wshing until PH is neutral after 4-8hs heating, then drying and grinding, finally chitosan powder is produced.
