It is a yellow orange colored powder with a light aroma of turmeric and is obtained by solvent extraction of ground rhizomes of curcuma longa l followed by purification of the extract by crystallization. Application: it is used for treating arteriosclerosis, some forms of cancer, arthritic & skin conditions. Also used as an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and disinfectant in medicinal preparations.
