Echium Oil

Product description

Echium oil is extracted from the seeds of the echium (or echium plantagineum) plant. The plant has striking purple-blue flowers and is typically found in Mediterranean climates.
Our NEWmega™ Echium Oil contains 11-15% of the important omega-3 Stearidonic Acid (SDA). SDA is the omega-3 series equivalent for omega-6 Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). SDA only exists in a few plant sources. Echium Oil is second richest source, only Ahiflower Oil (oil from the plant Buglossoides arvensis) is higher in SDA. Echium Oil also contains 26-33% omega-3 Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA), and 10-13% GLA.
