We had been thinking about mushroom snacks for some time. The problem had always been the process. Because if you throw frozen mushrooms into hot oil, you need to make a fast getaway – due to the large amount of moisture in the mushroom, the risk of explosion is high. In a joint testing session, thirty chefs tried to find a solution to the problem. They came up with a way of coating mushrooms to make them safe for the deep fryer, which meant the birth of our range of breaded mushrooms. And naturally what works for mushrooms also works for other vegetables, like broccoli, onions, carrots, zucchini and cauliflower.
