MEGMILK SNOW BRAND Co., Ltd. is one of Japan's leading dairy manufacturers and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2025.
Its history began with the establishment by cooperative efforts of dairy farmers in Hokkaido. At the time of its founding, the mission stated was "to realize a stable and enriched dietary life".
To fulfill this mission, we have consistently focused on milk, the product of dairy farming.
In 1933, we established a research department to explore the value and possibilities of milk, and the following year, we began research on lactic acid bacteria.
In 1937, with the aim to further strengthen our research and development, we established the Dairy Science Research Institute in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Currently, we own three research institutes within Japan and remain steadfast in our focus on milk.
Our passion for milk has resulted in successful research and development, leading to the creation of unique products that deliver "deliciousness" to people.
Since around 1975, we have not only focused on improving traditional flavors and preservation but also embarked on research into the health functionalities of dairy ingredients and lactic acid bacteria.
By around 1990, we discovered rare components in milk such as "MBP", which aids in improving bone density, and "Lactobacillus paragasseri SBT2055", which can persist in the human intestinal tract.
These discoveries have contributed not only to "deliciousness" but also to public "health."
Today, our aim extends beyond delivering our products to people. We strive to contribute to the improvement of the Quality of Life (QOL) for more people around the world
by using our unique materials and focusing on the sale of functional ingredients.
