Milk Thistle

Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum),also known as Blessed milk thistle, is an annual or biennial plant of the family Asteraceae. This typical thistle has red to purple flowers and shiny pale green leaves with white veins.

Originally, this species is native of Southern Europe through to Asia but is now found throughout the world.

Nexira milk thistle extract is made from seeds to obtain a light brownish fine powder with a high level of its active ingredient the silymarin, a polyphenolic flavonoid.
