NACTAROME — Your Partner for Natural Taste, Colour & Wellbeing Solutions
ABOUT US
At Nactarome, we combine nature, creativity and technical expertise to develop natural taste, colour and wellbeing solutions for the food, beverage and nutraceutical industries.
We help our customers transform ideas into products that engage the senses and respond to changing consumer expectations. From an initial concept to industrial production, we bring together application expertise, processing knowledge and market insight to develop solutions around each customer’s ambitions.
With more than 850 employees, 21 production sites and customers in over 100 countries, we combine the understanding of local teams with the capabilities of an international group. Our aim is to make specialist expertise accessible, relevant and practical at every stage of development.
OUR HERITAGE — EXPERIENCE THAT INSPIRES WHAT COMES NEXT
Founded in 2019, Nactarome brings together specialist companies whose histories, craftsmanship and local knowledge span generations.
Our heritage includes Trablit, our oldest brand, with natural coffee extraction expertise dating back to 1845; Royal Buisman, founded in 1867 and renowned for caramelised sugar specialities; FiorioColori, established in 1914, with more than a century of colour expertise; and Plantex, a specialist in botanical extraction.
Each brings distinctive skills, ingredient knowledge and long-standing customer relationships. Together, they broaden the possibilities we can explore, from authentic coffee notes and caramelised depth to expressive colours and botanical ingredients.
This heritage continues to evolve as new expertise joins the group. By connecting established craftsmanship with modern development capabilities, we help customers build on familiar tastes while exploring new opportunities.
OUR SOLUTIONS — EXPERTISE ACROSS EVERY DIMENSION
Our portfolio encompasses flavours, taste ingredients, taste modulators, texture systems and colour solutions, giving customers access to complementary capabilities within one group.
We develop flavours and extracts in liquid, powder and paste formats, alongside taste ingredients adapted to local preferences. Our modulation systems help balance sensory profiles, while our texture solutions include systems, breadings and batters that contribute mouthfeel and character. Our colour expertise helps customers achieve the visual identity their products require.
We serve four principal markets: sweet, savoury, beverages, and health & wellbeing. Applications range from bakery, confectionery, dairy and desserts to snacks, sauces, ready meals and meat products. Our beverage capabilities cover soft drinks, alcoholic and low/no alcohol concepts, while our health and wellbeing expertise supports sports nutrition, nutraceuticals and health foods.
Across these categories, we help customers select and combine solutions around the needs of their application.
OUR APPROACH — LAYERS OF EXPERIENCE
The products people remember engage them in several ways. Colour shapes the first impression. Aroma creates anticipation. Taste delivers enjoyment. Texture adds character. Wellbeing connects with personal priorities and lifestyles.
Our Layers of Experience approach considers how these dimensions work together to create a coherent product experience.
A botanical beverage, for example, needs its visual appearance and sensory profile to complement its positioning. A savoury snack depends on the relationship between seasoning, texture and overall satisfaction. A sweet treat can draw on familiar flavours to evoke comfort while offering something unexpected.
We work alongside customers to explore these relationships, solve formulation challenges and turn individual ingredients into a complete experience.
Because innovation is built layer by layer.
COLLABORATION FROM FIRST BRIEF TO PRODUCTION
Every project starts with understanding the customer’s goals: the intended consumer, the application, the market and the practical requirements behind the brief.
Our teams provide support across innovation, formulation, regulatory compliance, purchasing and production. We offer both customised solutions and ready-to-use products, supported by analytical capabilities and collaboration between R&D, marketing and manufacturing.
By combining local market understanding with knowledge shared across the group, we help customers make informed development choices. Open dialogue and responsive support keep the project focused as ideas evolve and move towards production.
NATURAL INGREDIENTS, RESPONSIBLE PROGRESS
Our focus on natural and clean-label solutions goes hand in hand with attention to provenance, traceability and responsible sourcing.
Sustainability informs how we develop our business, work with suppliers and manage our operations. Our priorities include environmental responsibility, people and culture, quality and food safety, and responsible procurement.
Through sustainability reporting and stronger group-wide processes, we continue to improve our understanding of our impacts and identify where further progress is needed. We approach this work through collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement.
