Collagen is widely distributed in tissues such as skin, bones, and cartilage. The collagen is composed of highly repetitive Gly-X-Y sequences, among which Gly-Pro-Hyp (GPO) represents the most abundant and core functional fragment, which is essential for maintaining the structural stability of collagen. In natural collagen peptides, its content is typically low (approximately 3%). Reseach shows orally administered GPO tripeptides are efficiently absorbed into the bloodstream and stimulate collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin synthesis, enhancing skin elasticity, hydration, and barrier function. Additionally, GPO promotes cartilage repair and bone metabolism, effectively alleviating osteoarthritis symptoms.
