colourfull-popsicle-3436175WILD has developed new toppings, added ingredients and coatings which it says turn ice cream into enchanting desserts. These chocolate sauces, dessert coatings and colourful fruit coatings give today’s consumers what they want, according to the company: natural ingredients, innovative ice cream creations and premium-quality enjoyment.

With sales of 622 million litres, the German ice cream market in 2014 gained 1% over the previous year. Germany is thus the highest-volume market for ice cream, ahead of Russia (490 million litres/+2.1%) and Great Britain (396 million litres/+1.7%). With statistics like these, in the year ahead it will once again be a challenge to make people even more excited about ice cream and draw more consumers to the freezer section of the supermarket, claims WILD, and are the reason it says it has developed new concepts with which manufacturers can turn simple kinds of ice cream into special desserts to be enjoyed at home or while on the go.

Chocolate coatings are now available as toppings and add-ins: WILD has created different kinds of chocolate options – “milk chocolate,” “bittersweet” and “semi-sweet” – to give ice cream a special finishing touch in many new and versatile ways. No matter whether manufacturers select a topping, a ripple sauce or a liquid core in the ice cream, these different chocolate preparations create a multi-faceted selection of potential uses. For an even more extravagant touch, there is also “chocolate orange” featuring orange juice and “pears belle Helene” with real pear chunks for creating exquisite dessert highlights.

All of the new chocolate sauces are based on genuine chocolate and precisely blended compositions of premium-quality cocoa. They have a rich chocolate flavour, can be combined in countless ways and transform simple kinds of ice cream into unusual high-quality desserts.
In addition to chocolate, WILD also offers different caramel preparations for toppings and fillings. Fruity duos such as “banana and burned caramel” or “pear and salted caramel” create a particularly harmonious flavour profile. WILD’s new caramel products are ideal for many delightfully surprising compositions.

Ice cream creations featuring the flavours of other desserts are very popular these days, WILD believes. So far, however, the company says that products of this nature have only been available in family-sized packaging and single-portion cups. Now WILD has created sophisticated coatings for popsicle products to reflect this trend. Appetizing popsicle options are available that feature new pH-neutral compounds, “panna cotta” and “biscuit,” which are an alternative to classic chocolate coatings or even double coatings. Particularly popular combinations include fruit as well, such as raspberry panna cotta or blueberry biscuit. The flavours and colours are based on natural flavours and colouring foodstuffs, and they satisfy the highest standards in terms of natural ingredients.

The company notes that colouring foodstuffs permit manufacturers to create formulations without E-numbers, which is something that more and more consumers want. In the past, there was only a limited range of colours available without E-numbers, whereas today, the use of spirulina alone opens up a broad spectrum of colour options— from green to blue all the way to shades of magenta. When combined with other colouring foodstuffs, an entire rainbow of colour nuances is possible. These ready-to-use compounds for colourful coatings offer everything today’s manufacturers need so they can create fruity popsicle products. They are said to be colour-stable in the acidic environment of the compound, feature high sensory quality and contain no E-numbers. WILD develops the fruity flavour based on each customer’s particular specifications and colour preferences.
