    Acesulfame potassium (Ace-K), a synthetic sweetener, is produced from acetoacetamide as the primary raw material. The synthesis process also involves sulfur trioxide, potassium hydroxide, and potentially other organic solvents or amines. The key steps in the process include the reaction of acetoacetamide with sulfur trioxide to form N-sulfoacetoacetamide, followed by dehydration and then neutralization with potassium hydroxide to produce Ace-K.
