Biocatalysts Ltd, a leading innovator in biotechnology, is proud to announce the launch of its proprietary ”Plug & Produce” platform, a range of microbial fermentation strains capable of immediate large-scale commercial production of enzymes. Launching this platform marks a significant milestone in the efficiency and scalability of industrial fermentation processes at its Cardiff site.
Developing enzyme and protein fermentation processes can be long and expensive and is often reliant on a single partner. “Plug & Produce” can bring product to market quicker and allow companies to efficiently develop a reliable production platform. With experience of over 190 scale-up projects, Biocatalysts Ltd. developed the “Plug & Produce” platform to optimise yields and performance in manufacturing enzymes. The platform offers bacteria, fungi as well as yeast hosts. These hosts have been developed in collaboration with Biocatalysts Ltd.’s parent company,
Harnessing over 40 years of enzyme development experience, the team of fermentation specialists at Biocatalysts Ltd are confident to plug in a selected enzyme sequence on behalf of a customer and immediately produce the enzyme in large commercial quantities with corresponding good yields.
“Plug & Produce” is set to transform industries reliant on fermentation of innovative enzymes, including pharmaceuticals, industrial biotechnology, and food and beverages, by reducing cost, reducing time to market and reducing supply chain risk.
