A collaboration agreement has been announced between Premium Ingredients México, which is part of Blendhub, and Treepak to jointly operate the first ‘Portable Powder Blending’ plant in Latin America.
Blendhub’s recently launched strategy “Food Powder Blends Anywhere” will, said the company, allow both companies to establish themselves in the Mexican market producing high quality and low cost-per-kilo powder blends, with a minimal financial and operational risk.
The agreement will allow both companies to produce powder blends, based on their own formulations and with or without liquid injection, complying with the highest food safety and the best cost in the market, Blendhub said.
Premium Ingredients Mexico will have a new production centre close to its customers, allowing the company to supply them more quickly and safely, reducing transportation time and costs as well as the prices of certain raw materials, the import tariff, and other fixed and variable costs. Treepak will be able to introduce itself into the food formulations industry at a competitive cost, with the maximum guarantees of food safety required in the sector, and with a minimum risk due to the technology supplied by Blendhub, the company said.
The PPB blending factory will be installed at Treepak headquarters, in Naucalpan (Mexico D.F.), in less than six months after the first contact between the two companies and only three months after the agreement. This has been possible, according to Blendhub, thanks to the production and full-service platform it has developed over the past ten years and that will, it claims, change the way in which the formulas of blended Agri-food powder products are delivered from now on.
President and CEO of Blendhub Henrik Stamm Kristensen said that the installation of a production centre in collaboration with Treepak in Mexico is a major step forward in the commitment initiated over three years ago by Premium Ingredients México with the companies in the country’s food sector.
“We seek a strong local integration with the food industry everywhere we go, based not only on the support that a technological formulation gives,” he said, “but on its whole delivery platform, locally installed and operated by people from the corresponding country, with local raw materials and creating a greater local value”.
“This alliance is key to implementing our strategy of fully integrating into the supply chain of our customers,” said Eduardo A. Delgado Almada, CEO of Treepak, “to provide a solution to the growing market need of generating a one-stop shopping experience. It will involve huge cost and logistics benefits for Treepak’s customers working with food powder products.”
