When you cut Ashitaba's leaf or stem, you will see stick yellow sap. This yellow sap is very unique to Ashitaba and cannot be found in other unbelliferae plants. This sap is very precious because you can collect only in several mgs from the cross section of the stem. The main component of this yellow sap is Chalcones, a pigment composition of yellow, and more than 10 chalcones are confirmed. We are the first Japanese company that succeeded in powderization of "Ashitaba polyphenol (Chalcone)". We are focusing on the suppressed availability of it and are investigating the functionality of Chalcone.
