    The first step line of pre-washes for produce offer several alternatives to traditional chlorine-based products. These environmentally friendly products clean whole fruit, vegetables and leafy greens and offer many exceptional benefits. First Step products are fruit acid and mineral-based products that effectively control harmful bacteria and spoilage organisms. First Step has had commercial success with: watercress, whole onions, baby carrots, baby corn and whole cantaloupe. Several other whole produce items are currently being field tested, and many others under development.
