L-Arabinose
Product description
L-Arabinose is a natural five carbon aldose monosaccharide (pentose) derived from plant hemicellulose (corn cob, sugarcane bagasse). It appears as a white, odorless, crystalline powder with mild sweetness (~50% of sucrose). L-Arabinose is not metabolized by human intestinal sucrase and is poorly absorbed; it acts as a sucrose inhibitor, reducing post-prandial blood glucose and insulin responses when co-consumed with sucrose. Applications include functional beverages, baked goods, dairy, confectionery, and weight management formulations. Also serves as a precursor for flavor compounds via Maillard reaction.
